Science & Math

Hello everyone welcome back, for the past week we have been learning about house plans I hope you enjoy my work have a wonderful day. Good-Bye

Aim: To put together some of the ideas we had learnt

Method: The house plan I picked was house "A" and I had 7 bulbs. Below is a photo of my work.

Result: the results of my ohm's law working out is this:
Volts
Path one: 200 Electrons (There was only one bulb in this row so that's why its still 200)
Path two:66.67 Electrons (there were 3 in this row so that is what makes it 66.67 because they all had to go around all three bulbs so they each got 66.67)
Path three:50.00 Electrons (This one had another 3 but the reason why it is 50 not 66.67 is because they all went down different paths so they had to split up and then they still had to make sure there was enough to go through each 3 bulbs so that's why the all got 50 in each bulb)

Part 2 of result:
then we had to find out what the amp's were so here is my working out:
Path one: 200 divided by 25 = 8 So there were 8 amp's in this path
Path two: 200 divided by 75 = 2.67 so there were 2.67 in this path
Path three: 200 divided by 100= 2 so there were to amp's in it

Discussion:The term voltage means:a force difference expressed in volts. The term Current means how quickly the electrons move around a circuit. The Term resistance means it pushes back against the current. I did the Calculation's by using the ammeter and voltmeter. My calculation's tell me about my house plan and my circuit because they show me that the light bulbs in houses are the same as a circuit online or someone who drew it. The calculation's make sense to me.

conclusion: I enjoyed this activity at the start it was a little bit confusing to me but then I got the hang of it. If I were to do it again it would do some thing differently like I would do a different house plan or I would  do a different about of light bulbs.

Wananga

Hey everyone welcome back today In wananga we are learning about envy I hope you enjoy the blog post have a wonderful day Good-Bye

We did a fake name for the blog post

Name* of someone you envy: Tayla

What I envy them for is...They are really good at maths

After a good think to yourself: What is the really appealing thing here? (Not the obvious thing but what might be lying behind it).Because I want to be good at maths like them

How can I get more of this in my life? Practising a lot

What is envy?
Envy is when you are jealous of someone but you then soon realise that you can get their your self but you also realise that  its not because their good at something its just that your not there yet and they are \

What is envy telling you?
It is telling you that you can get their but your not there at that point and time

Week 3 do now Hurumanu 1

Hey everyone, welcome back, today in Hurumanu 1 we are doing a do now every lesson we have today's topic is why we should have more mufti days, I agreed with this statement for many reasons as you will read below. I hope you enjoy my do now work for today. Have a great day, Good-Bye

Topic-why we should have more mufti days

I agree we should have more Mufti days because we can fundrase for other things.A reason why I think this is because we our uniform could get dirty and people may only have one pair of uniform so they need to clean it, so if we had one mufti day a week we could use it to clean our uniform. Another reason why we could have mufti days is because we could use it so that people will want to wear our uniform when we have to.  For example students could also use a mufti day to be creative and show what they are like on a weekend or even a holiday. So again in my opinion I think we should have more Mufti days.

Hurumanu 5

Hey everyone welcome back today in health we played a game where we had to get the highest tower made out of marshmallows and Skewers. And then we had to answer some questions on our blogs. so here are my answers. Have a wonderful day good bye.

What interpersonal skill did you use today?
i used verbal communication

Did you use any warm fuzzies?
Yes i did i said that it was a good idea to try a different tower

How did it help us with the challenge
it helped us by getting our ideas across to each other and still trying even though it didn't work in the end.

Who did i work well with today?
I worked well with Shelby and Nevaeh

If i were to do it again, how would we do it differently?
We would stick with out original plain and keep it going taller.

The level of halisons behavior model we were working at?

We were working at level 3. which is including other people and trying different things

What is resilience?

Hey everyone today in wananga we are learning about what resilience is and what it is to us and now we have to answer 3 questions so here are my answers. I hope you enjoy and have a good rest of your day. Good-bye

what is resilience to me?

Resilience to me is not giving up and continuously trying even when it gets hard

what skills do you need to show to be resilient?

Not giving up, showing respect, not giving up, commitment to your work or what your doing

think of a time when you hard a difficult challenge. how would you deal with it different now?

I would talk to people about it instead of trying to take it into my own hands and making it harder for myself

Wananga

Hey everyone welcome back, Today in wananga we are learning about bullying and we had to read a text and then we had to highlight main points so here are my main points put together. Thank you for veiwing my blog have a good day good-bye

Maybe in one group of friends it's normal to be into cars or a particular pop

group, but that is only normal among that small group of people -- and it is

likely that not all of them are really that interested anyway, they might simply

pretend to fit in with what they think everyone else likes. In another group of

friends it might be normal to like completely different things. What seems normal can change a lot as well. It used to be normal that children

didn't go to school-instead, most of them stayed at home and worked with their parents, usually on a farm. At school in Japan the children chat together about their pet

robot dogs, but probably if you did that people would think you were weird. If

people think you're not quite normal, you might just be a bit unluckymaybe the things you like are not very popular in the corner of the world you

happen to live in right now, but they wouldn't seem at all strange if you lived

somewhere else, or at a different time.

In fact, it is normal to be quite weird. At first that sounds crazy. How can it be normal to be strange? But it makes sense when you think about it. What 'normal' means is 'like other people'. In fact, it is normal to be quite weird. At first that sounds crazy. How can it be normal to be strange? But it makes sense when you think about it. What 'normal' means is 'like other people' Everyone is much more strange and interesting than they may seem: they have weird thoughts in the middle of the night that they never tell other people about. You know this, because that's what you are like. Other children at school are really much more unusual than they appear. If you feel odd or weird sometimes, don't worryyou probably have a lot more in common with others than you think. It is just that the others are keeping the odder bits of themselves hidden. You might think: 'I do not care about being normal. What is so good about being normal anyway?' It's a good question. A lot of philosophers started to have good ideas when they stopped caring so much about what others thought. Maybe you will, too.

Activity 1. Ministry of Inspiration
So you might have heard of the Ministry of Education or the Ministry of Health, right? They are groups of people who give advice to the government. But have you heard of the Ministry of Inspiration? It sounds like fun, doesn’t it?! Well, this is a real organization based in Nelson, New Zealand. Their aim is to get kids thinking creatively in the areas of science, technology, engineering, arts, maths and society (STEAMS). The Ministry of Inspiration hosts many cool activities and events, including an Aquabot competition. Aquabats are underwater robots. Have you ever heard of them?

I would like to join Underwater robotics because I really liked the normal robotics so I think I would like this one.

Activity 2.Caine’s Arcade
Caine Monroy is a 17-year-old boy who lives in Los Angeles (L.A.), California. When he was younger, he spent his summer holidays at his dad’s work - an auto parts store in downtown L.A. While his dad was working, he decided to build himself something that he had always wanted - an arcade! He built an arcade all by himself out of cardboard boxes and things that he found lying around the shop. One day a man came into the store to buy a handle for his car and he met Caine. Caine showed him what he had made and the man was so impressed with the arcade game that he made a movie about Caine and invited all the people in L.A. to come and play the games in Caine’s Arcade!
At school, I like to play netball or anything to do with it with my friends.

Bouns Activity. Choose your own
You have now made it to the end of Week 3 and have earned the right to choose your very own scientist, technologist, or inventor who you think has changed the world. There are no right or wrong choices for this activity, so find someone who interests you and tell us about them on your blog. It could be someone from your family, church or community or someone famous that you admire.

Activity 1.Medical Mavericks
Over the years, many important discoveries have been made by clever people looking to help others. Two of these are women - Florence Nightingale and Marie Curie whose work has been widely recognized and appreciated. Both women lived extraordinary lives.
Florence Nightingale was born in 1820 in England. When she grew up, she trained to be a nurse and, as an adult, was sent to Turkey during the Crimean War to look after wounded soldiers. When she arrived, the hospitals were very dirty so she spent money to clean them up and to provide the soldiers with quality care. She saved many lives. Marie Curie was born in Poland in 1867. Eventually, she moved to France to go to university. While there, she learned a lot about physics, chemistry, and maths. She spent her career conducting experiments that led to the discovery of chemical elements. She was also the first person to use an x-ray machine to look at the human body. She earned two Nobel Prizes for her work. Nobel Prizes are given out every year to people who have done something extraordinary in six specific fields of study - Medicine, Physics, Chemistry, Literature, Peace, and Economics.

Activity 2.iMoko
Dr. Lance O’Sullivan is a Māori doctor who lives in Kaitaia, Northland. He has committed his life to improve the health and well-being of both his patients and people in the local community. In 2014 he was named New Zealander of the Year.Together, Lance and his wife, Tracy, have started some very cool projects in New Zealand including affordable clinics, the Kāinga Ora (healthy homes) initiative, and the MOKO Foundation. The MOKO Foundation provides healthcare for students in school-based clinics. He has also started iMOKO, a digital initiative (program) whereby people living in communities without doctors, can take photos of health issues and send them to doctors in Kaitaia. The doctors look at the photos, provide advice and can send a script to the local pharmacy so that the patient can get medicine. This program is improving the health and well-being of people living in rural Northland.

1. We run around outside.
2. We play sports.
3. We eat healthily.
4. We get plenty of sleep.
5. We go for walks.

Bouns Activity.Putting Our Heads Together
Health is a complex and complicated topic. Most people believe that there are many dimensions (areas) of health - physical health, social health, mental health, emotional health, etc. Mental health is an area that is not often discussed. It is basically the way we think and feels about ourselves and the world around us. Sometimes our mental health can be affected by things that have happened in our lives, or by changes in our brains that we cannot control. Here in New Zealand, people like Mike King and John Kirwan have made the choice to speak publicly about the mental health challenges that they face. Overseas, people like The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, have joined the discussion about mental health and, like John and Mike, started a foundation to support people struggling with mental health challenges. John Kirwan started the John Kirwan Foundation in 2018. Mike King founded The Key to Life Foundation, the I Am Hope and the Gumboot Friday campaigns while the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge started the Heads Together foundation in 2017. In each case, these foundations serve an important role in the community.

My Poster

I put the title it red writing and bigger than the rest of it because it catches people's eyes.
Then I have the people that made I am hope right underneath it because it makes more sense to have the writing under neither the title.

I have a little bit of what they do and why they were made. When they first got made it was for helping kids that had a rough life and thats what they still do to this day.
