What I Learnt About ANZAC!

Here Are Some Things That I Learnt
What Is ANZAC Day?
Answer: Anzac day is a day we all come together to remember the people who lost their life for us to have a peaceful world today. Every 25 Of April We All Come Together In Different Places And Have A Celebration Of Them Fighting. We Always Have A Minute Of Silence, Also Some Of The St John Youth Divisions Go To Them And Stand With Pride.

What Does ANZAC Stand For?
Answer: Anzac Stands For Australian New Zealand Army Corps. That Is Because The Australians And New Zealand Fort And We Think The Had Army Corps With Them.

When Did It Become A Thing?
Answer:25th of April 1915. That Is When Anzac Day Became A Public Holiday And Everyone Started To Realize That They Lost Their Lives For Us To Be Happy So We Started Making Every Year On That Exact Date We Would All Come Together. So That Is What We Do

How Many People Lost Their Life’s For Us?
Answer: This Will Be The People That Went To Help The Fighters If The Go Injured As Well As The Fighters
WW1:16 Million People
WW2:50 To 56 Million People
All Together That is 66 Million Or 72 Million

Here Are Some More
Some Men Struggled Through Barbed Wire Under A Machine Gun Fire. They Could Barely Move Because Of Freezing Cold And Deep Mud
What Is Mustard Gas?

  • It Is Something With No Colour And It Is A Oily Gas Whose Vaper Causes Severe Itchiness In The Skin Used In Chemical Weapons .  It Is Not Still in Use It Was Lasted Used In 1917

4)  Describe the change in conditions for Edna when she working in England and in Egypt.  Do you think conditions would be different now? How?

In Egypt It Was Way Warmer And In England It Was Really Cold. I Think They Could Have Been Different. BECAUSE They Could Have Been In The Same Place That The Fight Was In
If I Was A Soldier I Would Be Sad Because I Know I Could Lose My Life And I Am Always Away From My Family And I Would Only Be Able To Write Letters To Them And I Would Alway Be Fighting, So I Would Probabley Not Get The Time To Write To My Family Much So They Might Get Worried About  Me.

Anzac Writing

Today I had to write about How it made me feel to research about, Thomas Marshall Percy Grace.  I said That it made me feel sad but also proud because of what they did for us.

I feel sad about having to research people that had died
in the war. It made me want to cry because of how some
of them died. Like Thomas Marshall Percy Grace died in
action at the age of 25.

I also Feel proud of them because of what they did for
us as people. We are all proud of all the people that
went to the war because they risked there life for us
to be alive right now.

Anzac Thomas Marshall Percy Grace's Diary

This Week in Reading we were learning about people that  were the war. On Monday we got to pick out what interested us the most.  I picked a Diary.  The owner of the diary was Thomas Marshall Percy Grace. Do you know any more interesting fact about Thomas.

  • One time there was a really important button. It saved a man's life at the war. It was sewn onto a khaki jacket.
  • The way the button saved his life was because a piece of shell hit him but it hit the neck button first.  When he was in the ground with his face down the button felt the heartbeat on the battlefield. Every Anzac day we take some time to respect the men and women that risked there lives to same all of us.
