Forensics

Hey everyone welcome back for the past week in forensics we have been learning about forensics sciences. And now we have to write about what we have been doing. Sorry for the short introduction have a wonderful day Good-Bye

Include new vocab and what it means

Nici’s Paragraph Who are forensic scientists? What does a forensic scientist do?

Forensic science is something that helped people find out what happened at a murder site or a robbery (Any crime basically.) Some reasons why we need it is because if we didn't have it we would never know what happened, or who killed someone or how something happened. Another reason why we need it is because without it you wouldn't have an idea on how to solve murders.

Forensics Scientists are someone that solves murders or any crime. They are like a detective but does other things than ask questions about the murder.

Nevaeh's Paragraph : What types of evidence do they collect from crime scenes?

The evidence they collect is very important to the whole crime scene. They could collect almost anything from a crime scene, I learnt this in class, the evidence that can be collected are:  weapons, fibres, cells, CCTV, DNA ect. They can analyse substances such as glass, paint, fire debris and fibres which can provide crucial evidence in a case. This kind of non-biological evidence can provide vital links between the victim, suspect and crime scene.

Hayley Paragraph: What is genetic profiling?

Information about specific genes, including variations and gene expression, in an individual or in a certain type of tissue. A genetic profile may be used to help diagnose a disease or learn how the disease may progress or respond to treatment with drugs or radiation.

Candesse Paragraph: What are some of the jobs?

Visit crime scenes to find evidence.

take notes and map the crime scene

analyse physical evidence such as fibers, glass, debris, firearms, bullets and marks made by tools or weapons.

Identify drugs found on people, in body fluids or at crime scenes.

Wananga

Hey everyone welcome back for the past week in wananga we have been learning about the number 8 wire mentality which is basically having a can do attitude and having faith in yourself and then at the end of the week we had to rate ourselves on how we did over the past week. At the start of the week we rated how much we would get or do over the week here is my answers. Thank you for veiwing my blog, Have a good day Good-Bye

With the support from other people I think I got about a 5 because I didn't really need much support from other people

With the ability to accept myself for who i am I think I was more a 10 because I was really happy with who I am

My confidence in ability to cope with adversity I think I would probably be about a 5 because I am really shy and I don't have the confidence to speak in front of other people

With the communicating with other people in times of stress i think i was about a 10 because I can talk to people when they are having hard times and i can also talk to some people when im having a hard time

With the facing challenging problems and solving i think i was about a 4 because I didn't have many problems to face

for the ability to cope with my emotions in the face of adversity i think i was about a 6 because I didn't really be up infront of people

so all together I would rate myself a 9/10

Rugby is the most definitive sport in new zealand (Do Now Hurumanu 1)

Hey everyone welcome back. Today in Hurumanu 1, we did our do now and our topic was Rugby is the most definitive sport in New Zealand. I hope you enjoy my opinion on it. Thank you for reading. Have a wonderful day, Good-Bye

When you think about New Zealand the first sport that comes to mind is rugby. Some reasons for this is because most of the most famous people in the rugby world come from New Zealand, Another reason why you may think this is because a lot of people play it. For example Richie macaw is a well known rugby player around the world, another reason this may be is because when you come to New Zealand you find a lot of people talking about last nights game or even last weeks game, they are a few examples about why rugby is a well known sport in New Zealand. Therefore that is why most of us think rugby when they think about New Zealand.

Cup challange

Hey everyone welcome back today In hurumanu 5 we were doing the cup challenge. In the challenge you have 5 cups you have to move from one table to the other 5 strings and one rubber band as your equipment.  My Interpersonal skill that I choose was Being inclusive I was being inclusive by making sure they all knew what we were doing and keeping them understanding in what was happening . and I use keep going guys as my warm fuzzie. In my team there was Hayley Nevaeh and Ashton. It helped us to succeed by talking to each other and including each other in it, If i were to do it again we would all explain what our plan was better, The helisons behavior model I was working at was level 4, I worked at level for because I cared for my team mates and made sure they knew what they were doing. Here are some photos below. Thank you for viewing my blog. Have a good day, Good-Bye

Our experiment

Hey everyone welcome back to my blog. today in science we did our first experiment and we were also learning about things that dissolve and a lot of other things as you can see below. I hope you enjoy my blog. Have a wonderful day, Good-Bye.

2 things that dissolve
1. Raro ( with water)
2. sugar

2 things that don't dissolve
1.  Rocks
2. Chairs

3 ways we can speed up dissolving
1. heat things up
2. make them smaller
stirring

When we did the experiment
we had 3 beakers. two of them had warm water in them and one other had cold water in it. once we had all the water we put a teaspoon of sugar in them and then we had to leave one warm water one to see how long it took and stir the other two. the fastest one to dissolve was the warm water one.

Hurumanu 5 Drawing challange

Hey everyone welcome back today we did the drawing challenge in health. i was paired with Hayley and we both had to describe a image that we chose. we had to choose a IP skill which is a interpersonal skill and i choose active listening.I would do it differently by trying to describe a lot easier so that she can understand again. I think i was working at level 3 because i didn't help her understand better and if I helped her understand better it would of made her drawing better. here is my drawing below. Have a wonderful rest of your day. Good-bye

Summer Learning Journey Week 4 Day 5

Ki Ora Everyone for the next few weeks I will be posting blog posts continuously for something that is called the Summer Learning Journey. Today I am doing Week 4 Day 5. I will always put the links under this blurb so that you can go to the sites I had. Sadly today is the last day so I will have to wait until this year one.

Activity  1.The World of Hip Hop
Parris Goebel has taken over the world of dance! You might already have heard of her as she is pretty famous in New Zealand and around the world.
Parris was born in Manurewa, South Auckland, and she is of Samoan/Chinese/Scottish descent. Parris loved dancing when she was very little and she began hip-hop lessons when she was 10. By the age of 15, she was so good that she started her own all-girl dance crew called ReQuest, and they went on to win several first places at the World Hip-Hop Championships. Parris later started The Palace Dance Studio in Auckland and formed five more dance crews that won competitions worldwide. She has also worked as a choreographer for famous musicians like Justin Beiber, Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, and Janet Jackson. In 2019, Parris and her new dance crew, The Royal Family, won the World Hip Hop Dance Championship.
I can not watch this video sadly because it is restricted from me seeing this video but I have seen other videos from my mums phone and I don't really understand the dances they do but they are kinda cool I don't think they should change anything because they do everything, as well as they, can and that's what you should do.
Activity 2. En Pointe
Most successful ballerinas start learning ballet when they are very young - 3 or 4 years old. World-famous ballerina, Misty Copeland, wasn’t like most other girls. Instead of starting at age 3, she started ballet lessons at age 13! By 14, Misty had won a national competition for ballet dancers. She continued to work very hard and, in 2015, she became the first African American principal (lead) dancer of the American Ballet Theatre - this is amazing because there were, and still are, very few African American ballet dancers in the country. When interviewed, Misty has said that she would like people to be able to “see dreams through me”. This is an example of an inspirational quote. Please click on this link to read more inspirational quotes.

Why fit in when your born to stand out Dr. Seuss

I chose This because my dad and mum tell me this alot and I never knew where they got it for but now I know.

Bouns Activity.Concluding the Journey
Sadly, the Summer Learning Journey has now come to an end. It is time to reflect on everything that you have learned this summer about people who have had an impact, or changed the world, in some way.

  1. Which activity you enjoyed the most (I enjoyed the end of the week activity because I learnt a lot more about famous people)
  2. Which activity you enjoyed the least( I liked all the activities I don't Have a lest liked)
  3. Three things that you learned while completing the programme( 1. That you can learn something new every day 2. you can teach other people about your hobbies 3. you can have fun while learning)
  4. What changes/improvements you would make to the programme for next year( I wouldn't change anything because I enjoy it just the way it is)

Summer Learning Journey Week 4 Day 4

Ki Ora Everyone for the next few weeks I will be posting blog posts continuously for something that is called the Summer Learning Journey. Today I am doing Week 4 Day 4. I will always put the links under this blurb so that you can go to the sites I had.

Activity 1.Fashion forward
Coco Chanel was a French fashion designer from the early 1900s. She was very influential because she designed clothes for women that were beautiful, but also comfortable and practical. Before Coco came along, European women wore corsets that pulled in their waists and dresses that had lots of lace. Coco Chanel introduced a completely new style, influenced by men’s fashion - trousers (pants), monochrome (black and white) fabric, and looser tops. Twenty Seven Names is a contemporary (current) New Zealand fashion label that is also influential. The founders of the company are two friends, Rachel Easting and Anjali Burnett. Rachel and Anjali met when they were at primary school. When they left school, Anjali studied fashion design and Rachel studied art before they set up their own business designing and making clothing. Where possible they employ young women and they keep as much of their production (making) in New Zealand as possible.
I think it is a good name for them because they give 27 choices for you to choose from.

Activity 2.Try Your Own Tapa
Fatu Feu’u is a Samoan artist who lives in Aotearoa/New Zealand. He is mostly known for being a painter but he also creates sculptures, pottery, prints, and glassworks.
As an artist, Fatu Feu’u is primarily influenced by tapa cloth (siapo) patterns from Samoa, as well as tatau (tattoo), weaving, carving, and mask designs.
Many Pacific Islands have their own versions of tapa cloth. In Tonga it is called the ngatu, in Fiji - the masi, in Niue - the hiapo, in the Cook Islands - the tapa, and in Hawaii - the kapa. You can learn more about tapa cloth here.

Bouns Activity. Top Secret Street Art
“Banksy” is an influential artist from England. He is very private and secretive. In fact, almost no one knows who he really is - he always creates his art in secret! Banksy often uses stencils to create his street art.Street art, or graffiti art, is all around us. Sometimes the art tells a story, sometimes it makes a building look more interesting, and sometimes it makes us think hard about something. In 2011, the city of Christchurch experienced a huge earthquake. A lot of the central city buildings fell down. It takes a long time to rebuild a city, and there are areas of Christchurch where buildings are still damaged and/or need to be rebuilt. Street artists in Christchurch have seen this as a chance to create artwork that helps to make the city beautiful again. You can see lots of amazing street art in Christchurch at the moment! Here is a site that shows you where to find it.

She had to overcome challenges and she experienced many struggles during her life, however, she persisted and eventually became a radio presenter, TV news presenter, and daytime talk show host. She now owns her own production company (HARPO), and television station (OWN). She also produces a magazine called ‘O.’ Oprah is passionate about education. She believes in the power of learning and has even started her own school in South Africa called The Oprah Winfrey Leadership School for Girls. Bouns Actvity:Feast or Famine
Julian Dennison is a very funny guy! He is from Lower Hutt, near Wellington. He is only 17 years old but he has already starred in a number of movies and TV commercials. You may have seen him on Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Deadpool, or in the Lynx ads.Julian is not only a funny actor. He recently joined up with World Vision to be a 40 Hour Famine Ambassador. He travelled with World Vision to Uganda to meet some of the refugees from South Sudan who are living there. Check out this video.

I would do the 40 hour Famine because you can raise money for the fires In Australia. I would also do it so that we can send food to all the people that need it if they are affected by the fires. If I would do It I would go 40 hours with out devices because I am always on my devices and it is one off my main things I need to stop. I would raise money for the fires because I have family their and I want them to stay safe. I think I would enjoy it.
