hurumanu 2

Kia ora everyone
 welcome back to my blog

today in class we were playing a lot of games and learning how to play them. Then once we had finished playing the games we went into another room and had to choose a monologue this is the one I chose.

Snow White?  I’ll tell you about Snow White!  You think she looks like that naturally?  (she spends hours on her make up.) And who do you think cleans all that up? It wasn’t snow white, I’ll tell you that. I never made her do any chores. She’s just like my friends stepdaughter, in front of guests she refuses to let anyone else lift a finger and then turns it around and makes us look bad. I’m telling you, that Cinderella girl should get together with snow white. Let them fight it out as to who gets to do the work. It’s like some kind of . . . Complex or something.

I hope you enjoy this blog post have a great day
good-bye

Hurumanu 2 (drama)

Hey everyone welcome back today in hurumanu 2 which is drama (speaking my truth) we had to play a lot of games and then learning about some drama things.  with Mrs Clark we were learning about a lot of things and we found out what we would need to do if we were to preform in front of people like speaking out loud and so on. I hope you enjoy my blog post. have a good day. Good-bye
These are some of the things we did today
- Tequila
- magic mover
- 7 up
- word association
-  names gesture
-copy circle

why did we do some of these things
- we did these to work on our team work and learn things about others.
- we did the floor pattern so that we could take notice of who was around us and what type of space we had.

These are some of the skills I've learnt
-  Movement repetition- resilience which is learning what type of movement we can make and having resilience.
- watching and listening which is watching what people do and listening to what people say.
- Mime mirrors- eye contact which is basically doing what the person in front of you do but you have to have complete eye contact

Thank you for reading my blog post
Have a wonderful day
Good-Bye

Wga term 3 week 1

Hey everyone so this week in wga we were learning about growth mindset which is turning negative thoughts into positive thoughts for example: I can't do this- I can't do this yet I don't know how to do this - I will ask for help. And so on.

I've had to use this many times as every time I get stuck on something in a hurumanu or on a subject i ask for help and then I work out what I need to do.

Thank you for reading this blog post
Have a wonderful day
Good-bye

Six Photographs by Dylan Owen

Make a copy of this document and save in your HUR 1 folder.

You will complete the following work to share what you have learned

from this reading. You must complete your answers in full sentences.

What was the main message of this story?

To explain what life was like back way before we were born.

Some of the old photos are informative.

Photos show history

In every photo there is lots of history

It showed what photos looked like in the past

The journal article looks at 6 different photos throughout NZ history. Re-read the paragraphs which match each photo and share 1 interesting fact for each photograph that you learned.

Family of T.W Ferry

  • Sometimes head and waist clamps were used to keep the children still.

  • It took up to ten seconds to take a photo.

  • The parents had their hands on their childrens’ heads to keep them still.

  • They had to walk to a place to get there photo taken

Māori at Parihaka

  • The Pakeha made the maori feel under pressure to sell their land

  • They wore a raukura-White feathers they were a symbol of the passive resistance

  • Maori had to adapt to pakeha ways

Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee

  • In 1897 the queen celebrated the 60th year rule over the british empire.

  • When the queen celebrated they all grouped up and took a group photo and all the children were in fancy dresses and suits.

  • That people used to wear European or Maori clothing

  • She sat facing her left leg ford

  • One of her tattoos mean (Bella)

Māori Farm at Winiata Taihape

  • Most of the family had to go out and milk the cows

  • The photo was taken when some new technology was invented to make the photos clear

  • It was faster to burn bushes rather than chopping them

Kitchen Interior by William Williams

  • It was a 19th century man cave

  • It was more of a flat then a family home

  • There were guns on display

  • There were no chairs or furniture.

  • The kitchen is very different to a modern-day kitchen.

  • The guns might have been used for hunting or the New Zealand wars.

Find Your Own Source: Complete some research about why it is important to remember our history. Find an article or website that supports this idea. Remember, it will likely not be the first website you come across. It needs to be appropriate for your learning level and you need to read it. Use key words like “for students”, “for children”, “in New Zealand” to help narrow your search results.

Places to help you start:

KiwiKids News

Te Ara - Encyclopedia of NZ

NZ History

I think this is a good source because it can tell you about a lot of things like the world war 1’s and 2’s and it also tell you about the past in different countries
